Restore Prosperity and Bring Back Quality Jobs

Dover, DE–Today, State Senator Colin Bonini released the fourth item in a series of policy proposals titled “The Delaware To-Do List,” which outline his solutions on how, if elected governor, he will put Delaware back on track.

This week’s item on the “To-Do List” addresses how Delaware can restore prosperity and bring back quality jobs by changing how regulations are created and moving forward with the RiverEdge Container Terminal Project. These proposals will help revive the First State back to the booming hub of economic vibrancy that it once saw.

In releasing the proposal, Bonini stated, “Delaware is a high regulation state with tremendous costs to employers which creates a significant drag on our economy. Years of unrestricted government power has led to a culture that discourages entrepreneurship and business expansion in Delaware. As governor, reforming our regulatory structure and ensuring our state government is supportive of job creators will be one of my top priorities.”

With regard to the RiverEdge Container Terminal Project, he remarked, “RiverEdge represents one of the best economic opportunities Delaware has and I’m frustrated and dismayed that, other than county government, our political class has not supported this project with anything but lip-service.  We can partner with private investors and get this built in a very short time period if we have a governor willing to push for it.  I will be that governor.  In my administration, RiverEdge will be one of my top priorities.”
