18-Year-Old Shot In Wilmington

Wilmington – On February 9, 2017 at approximately 6:20 p.m., Wilmington Police Officers responded to the 1000 block of W. 3rd Street in reference to a shooting Investigation, according to authorities.

wilmington-shootingOfficials said that arriving officers located a 18-year-old male in the block suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to his left calf. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the St. Francis Hospital in stable condition, said police.

The circumstances surrounding this incident remain under investigation. However, the preliminary investigation indicated that the shooting may have occurred within a residence located in the 1000 block of W. 3rd Street.
