Middletown Crash Closes Road, Patient Flown To Hospital

Middletown – Just after 10:15 p.m. last night, Wednesday June 29, 2017, firefighters from the Volunteer Hose Company Of Middletown, along with New Castle County Paramedics, were dispatched to the 1000 block of Middletown Warrick Road in the area of South Warrick Road for a report of an injury accident involving a tractor-trailer.

Arriving crews found at least one patient with serious injuries. Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) was called to the scene to transport the patient to the hospital. The helicopter landed nearby at at a weigh station were it was met by the ambulance crew. The patient was transported with undetermined injuries and arrived at Christina Hospital at 10:56 p.m.

Traffic was stopped in both directions as crews worked the scene, causing delays for over an hour.
