Newark Rescue Crews Respond To “Child Drowning”

Newark – At around 3:30 p.m this afternoon, Thursday June 15, 2017 New Castle County Police and Paramedics along with Aetna Hose Hook and Ladder rescue crews responded to the 100 block of N Hunter Forge Road (Anvil Park) for a report of child drowning.

Rescue crews were seen carrying the child to an awaiting ambulance as Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) hovered above the scene ready to land at a nearby baseball field.

The child appeared to be awake when placed in the ambulance. Ambulance crews on scene determined Trooper 4 would not be utilized and that the child was transported to AI DuPont via ground ambulance, in an undetermined condition.

Neighbors said that they believe the home has a swimming pool but its not clear if the child was in a pool or in the creek behind the home.

We are awaiting comment from authorities regarding this incident.
