Tire Slashings Worse Than First Reported, 10 Vehicles Affected

Newark – Sunday’s Newark tire slashing worse than first reported. On Monday we reported that up to seven cars had their tires slashed in Newark’s Cherry Hill neighborhood. The number was actually 10 vehicles, according to Newark Police Spokesman Fred Nelson.

“We had a total of 10 vehicles with their tires slashed. 2 were on Pickett Lane, 6 were on Kenilworth Avenue, and 2 were on Sue Lane.”,  said Nelson. Sue Lane is located across Barksdale Road from the Cherry Hill neighborhood in Barksdale Estates.

Based on all of the victims accounts, the damage appears to have occurred between 11 p.m. on July 2, 2017 and 3 a.m. on July 3, 2017, added Nelson

Police continue to investigate.

Newark – Up to seven cars had their tires slashed last night in Newark’s Cherry Hill neighborhood, according to post on social media.

The post indicate that residents on three streets found the damage to their vehicles this morning and called police.

Several residence took to social media to ask if anyone else had damage to their tires. Another family commented that police told them that their cars were number six and seven.

First State Update is awaiting more information from Newark Police. We’ll update you  as soon as we know more.

Back in May three cars had their tires slashed in this same neighborhood.
