Authorities Update Hockessin Crash Details, Photos Of Scene

Hockessin – This afternoon at approximately 2:50 pm, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCP) and personnel from the Hockessin and Mill Creek Fire Companies were dispatched to the intersection of Limestone Road and Little Baltimore Road for a motor vehicle crash, with entrapment, according to NCCP Spokesman Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found a two vehicle crash with one patient trapped in the wreckage. The patient was rapidly extricated from the vehicle by fire department personnel, working under Hockessin Fire Company Command.

Two patients were evaluated, one from each of the vehicles involved. The first patient, a 29-year-old male was evaluated on scene for a leg injury and facial lacerations. He was flown by Trooper 4 (Delaware State Police Aviation) to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital on board the State Police helicopter.

The second patient, a 67-year-old male was evaluated for a possible head injury and body-wide pain. He was transported to the Emergency Department on board an ambulance from the Mill Creek Fire Company with a New Castle County Paramedic accompanying. Both patients were stable at the time of transport.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash. Traffic was halted while rescue workers worked to treat the patients.
