Thieves Make Off With Hotel Construction Tools In Newark

Newark – Newark Police Department is investigating a burglary that occurred at 400 Ogletown Road (This location is a construction site where Spring Hill Suites is being built.) between 9/12/17 at 6:00 pm and 9/13/17 at 6:15 am, according to Newark Police Spokesman Fred Nelson.

Nelson said one of the contractors reported that an unknown suspect gained access to a trailer on the west side of the site by using a cutting tool to defeat the door latch. The contractor reported that an as of yet undetermined number of tools were taken from the trailer.

A second metal container located inside of the second floor of the building was also forcibly entered by cutting the lock. Multiple workers reported their tools had been stolen from this container and they are still in the process of compiling a comprehensive list of the stolen items.
