Original Breaking Report

New Castle – Just before 10:00 pm last night rescue crews from the Christiana Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedics, along with Delaware State Police and New Castle County Police, responded to the 200 block of Highland Blvd for a shooting.

Reports from the scene indicate the at least one person was shot in the area of the Burn Brae condominiums, near the intersection of route 273 and Airport Road.

Those same reports indicated that a male, believed to be in his teens, was shot and was transported to trauma. It’s believed that Delaware State Police were first to respond and that County Police took over upon their arrival.

Medical crews responded to MacKenzie Court, which is a short distance across a field from Highland Blvd. It’s unclear if the patients was found on MacKenzie Court or if medics accessed the scene from that area.

We are awaiting an update from officials at this time.
