Breaking: Injury Accident Knocks Out Power In Hockessin-Area Again

Hockessin – At approximately 4:20 this morning rescue crews from Cranston Heights Fire Company, along with New Castle County Police responded to the intersection of Hercules Road and Olympus Place, near Hockessin, for reports of a crash with injuries.

Arriving crews found at least one vehicle that had struck a utility pole. As a result of the crash Hercules road has been closed between Newport Gap Pike (Route 41) and Lancaster Pike (Route 48) with County Police investigate. No word on the severity of the patients injuries at this time.

Reports from the scene indicate that the utility pole was broken in half. Delmarva is en route to the scene to repair the pole and restore power to the area. A check with Delmarva indicates that 91 customers are without power in the area.

A similar accident occurred yesterday in the same area. That accident knocked out power to 575 customers for approximately two hours.
