Man Struck By A Vehicle This Morning Near Newark, One To Hospital

Newark- This morning, at approximately 6:10, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Aetna Hose, Hook & Ladder Company were dispatched to the intersection of Salem Church Road
and Chapman Road, for a pedestrian struck, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found a 68-year-old man in the care of Emergency Medical Technicians and fire department personnel. Few details about the accident are available but McKinney did say that The patient was struck by a vehicle at the intersection.

The patient was treated on scene for injuries to the head and extremities. The patient was transported to the Emergency Department at Christiana Hospital on board an ambulance from Aetna Hose, Hook &
Ladder, with New Castle County Paramedics accompanying. The patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.
