Newark Police Looking For Robbery Suspect, “Victim Shoved From Vehicle”

Newark – The Newark Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred on 11/10/17 at approximately 11:45 p.m. in the 700 block of Chrysler Avenue, according to Lieutenant Fred Nelson. The victim, a 17 -year-old male from Newark, reported that the incident began when he make a purchase of marijuana.

The victim stated that he met with a subject, later identified as Kyle Mace, 19, to conduct the drug transaction, according to Nelson. According to the victim, he approached Mace while he was seated in the driver’s seat of a vehicle and he stuck his hand containing cash inside of the vehicle.

Mace then grabbed the money and attempted to pull it from the victim’s grasp. The victim held on to the money and the suspect’s vehicle as Mace began to drive away. Mace then shoved the victim off of his vehicle as the vehicle was moving, said Nelson.

The victim fell from the vehicle and sustained scrapes, bruises, and lacerations to his elbow, hands, and knees. The victim was later treated at Saint Francis Hospital and released. Officers subsequently obtained an arrest warrant for Mace, who has not been arrested as of the time of this release.
