Over A Dozen Evacuate As Marshallton Home Catches Fire

Marshallton – Just after 12:00 this afternoon fire crews from the Mill Creek, Christiana, Elsmere, and Cranston Heights Fire Companies responded to the 4000 block of Verona Drive for reports of a house fire.

Arriving crews reported smoke showing and began a search of the home.  Crews found fire in a bedroom and worked quickly to knock it down, bringing it under control within minutes.

More than a dozen people evacuated the home before firefighters arrived on scene.  No injuries were reported.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal was on scene investigating.
