Newark Business Office Complex Evacuated Due To Smoke In The Building

Newark –  At approximately 3:00 this afternoon firefighters from Aetna Hose, Hook, and Ladder, along with Mill Creek, Cranston Heights, Wilmington Manor and Christiana Fire Companies responded to 100 White Clay Center Drive for reports of a commercial structure fire. Upon arrival, crews reported smoke on the second floor.

Reports from the scene indicate that crews were attempting to locate the source of the smoke when the smoke dissipated, allowing maintenance to work with fire crews to search in the ceiling. It’s unclear if crews ever located the source of the smoke.

Employees from the complex were evacuated to the parking lot while fire crews worked to locate the source of the smoke.
