St. Georges – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ Philadelphia District announced today that the St. Georges Bridge will be closed to all traffic from Monday, Sept. 10, 2018 through January of 2019, according to U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Spokesman Tim Boyle.
Boyle said The Army Corps and its contractor will be completing repair work of steel beams necessitating the closure.
The Army Corps awarded a $3.7 million contract to Freyssinet, Inc. in February 2018 for steel beam repairs. The St. Georges Bridge was constructed in 1941, added Boyle.
