Heavy Snow Causing Another Round Of Crashes In The Newark-Area

Newark – Just after 11:00 this morning multiple reports of vehicle accidents began coming into Newark Police and Delaware State Police dispatch centers. As Newark Police arrived on the scene of a crash on the Route 896/I-95 overpass they learned that several accidents occurred on the highway below.

Newark Police responded to at least two accidents on I-95 to assist motorist. Delaware State Police and DelDOT crews arrived on scene, freeing up Newark Police to respond to additional accidents in the city.

Authorities are currently working at least five accidents in the Newark area.

The roads are not in good shape. The thick wet snow is falling pretty heavy.
