Hold Your Horses! Who’s Stealing Bedding From The New Castle County Police Mounted Patrol

Wilmington – New Castle County Police are investigating a theft that occurred in the Carousel Park and Equestrian Center, according to M/Cpl. Heather Carter.

Carter said during the months of January and February, the Equestrian Director for the New Castle County Police Mounted Patrol Unit learned over 700 bags of cedar wood shavings went missing from outside the horse barn which is located within Carousel Park.

The wood shavings are used for the horses bedding. New Castle County Patrol officers were dispatched to investigate the theft.

Police were able to obtain surveillance video that captured a suspect vehicle driving in the parkland within the time frame of when the theft occurred, said Carter.

Anyone with information on this investigation is asked to contact New Castle County Police by calling 302-573-2800 or by e-mailing Ofc. Ellis at [email protected].
