Summit Bridge Road Motorcycle Crash Injury Update, Details

Bear – This afternoon, at approximately 3:30, New Castle County Paramedics and personnel from the Christiana Fire Company were dispatched to the intersection of Red Lion Road and Summit Bridge Road, for a motorcycle crash, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal David J. McKinney, Jr.

McKinney said arriving County Paramedics found the patient lying in the roadway. The 32-year-old male patient was riding his motorcycle when he was involved in a crash with another vehicle and was separated from his bike.

He was wearing his helmet at the time of the crash. The patient was evaluated by County Paramedics on scene for a lower leg injury. He was flown to the Emergency Department on board Delaware State Police Trooper 4. The patient was stable at the time of transport.

The Delaware State Police were on scene and are investigating the crash.

Breaking Report

Bear – Rescue crews from the Christina Fire Company, along with New Castle County Paramedics, New Castle County Police, Delaware State Troopers and Trooper 4 have responded to Summit Bridge Road at Red Lion Road for reports of a vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

Upon arrival, crews found a van into a motorcycle. Trooper 4 has landed in the roadway. Both directions of Summit Bridge Road have been closed.

Update: NB lanes have reopened. One SB land has reopened. Troopers remain on scene investigating the crash.

No word on injuries at this time.
