Car Fire Brings I-495 To A Crawl This Morning

Wilmington – Just before 10:00 this morning firefighters responded to I-495 NB in the area of 12th Street for reports of a car on fire.

Upon arrival, crews reported that the car was fully involved.  Rescue crews, along with Delaware State Police blocked all but one lane while firefighters worked to extinguish the fire.

The driver of the car was understandably upset as he watched the car burn but he not injured in the incident.

The roadway remained restricted for approximately 20 minutes.
