8-Year-Old Child Missing After Block Party Located

Update: Missing juvenile, Yaasir Ames has been located and is in good condition, according to police.

The Wilmington Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating an 8-year-old juvenile male named Yaasir Ames of Wilmington, according to police.

Officials said Yaasir was last seen by his mother, Ramona Grayson, in the 300 block of W 36th Street. She allowed Yaasir to attend a block party with his friends in the 200 block of W 36th Street. He was last seen in the area of 36th and Washington Streets on Saturday, September  15, 2018, at approximately 3:00.

Yaasir has not returned home. Attempts to locate Yaasir by his mother as well as the Wilmington Police Department have met with negative results.

Yaasir Ames, black male DOB: 09/22/2009, is approximately 4’0 height, approximately 50lbs in weight and was last seen wearing a black t-shirt with a silver Old Navy logo, blue shorts, and black and white Vans sneakers.

Anyone with any information regarding the whereabouts of Yaasir Ames is asked to contact the Wilmington Police Department at 911 or the non-emergency number 302-654-5151.
