Newark Police Looking For Suspect In Burglary Near Main Street

On Saturday evening, December 15th, at around 8:25, a resident of an apartment in the unit block of Choate Street heard the front door to his apartment open. The resident went towards the sound and observed a man in his residence. The suspect made a statement to the victim and fled when the victim went to call the police.

The suspect was observed riding a bicycle on Choate Street prior to the burglary. He was also observed fleeing after the burglary, according to police. The suspect is described as a white male, 40-49 years of age, 5’7″ – 5’9″, 140 – 180 pounds, thin mustache and wearing a black jacket and gray hat.

The same apartment had been burglarized the day before between 6:20 am and 10:00 pm. During that incident, an unknown suspect(s) entered the apartment through a door and removed various property belonging to the residents of the apartment.
