Troopers: New Castle Burger King Robbed At Gunpoint

The Delaware State Police are investigating the armed robbery of a New Castle area Burger King that took place Sunday night, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 9:37 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2019, at the Burger King, located at 1530 N. DuPont Hwy., New Castle. A suspect entered the business brandishing a handgun and proceeded directly into an “employees only” area of the business where he confronted two employees and demanded money from the safe, according to Austin.

The victims complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled the business on foot in an unknown direction. Neither employee was injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, wearing all dark clothing, to include a covering over his face and in possession of a handgun.

No surveillance images are available at this time.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective A. Tenebruso of the Troop 2 Robbery Unit by calling 302-365-8435.
