Overview Gardens House Fire Sends Trapped Resident To Hospital

At approximately 3:55 yesterday afternoon, Thursday, February 14, 2019, New Castle County Paramedics and surrounding fire departments were dispatched to the 100 block of Parma Avenue in Overview Gardens for a residential structure fire.

Upon arrival, fire departments were informed of a patient trapped and successfully removed the patient from the residence, according to Paramedic First Class Yvonne T. Russell. New Castle County Paramedics treated the patient, 69-year-old male, who suffered from smoke inhalation. The patient was transported to Christiana Hospital via Minquas Fire Company ambulance accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. He patient was in stable condition at the time of transport.

State Fire Marshal Office is investigating the fire.
