Just In: Concord Pike Crash Sends Four To Hospital

Just before 10:00, last evening, Friday, March 22, 2019, emergency crews responded to the area of Concord Pike at Sharpley Road for reports of a motor vehicle collision, according to Paramedic Senior Corporal Ruoy Koontz.

Koontz said on arrival, emergency personnel found a total of four patients and requested assistance from New Castle County Paramedics. All four patients were transported to Christiana Hospital for various injuries. A 30-year-old man with lower extremity injuries, as well as a 5-year-old boy were both transported in stable condition via an ambulance from Claymont Fire Company.

A 28-year-old woman with injuries to the upper extremities was transported in stable condition via an ambulance from Brandywine Hundred Fire Company. The last patient, a 72-year-old woman with suspected abdominal injuries, was transported in stable condition via an ambulance from Five Points Fire Company. All four patients were accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.

The incident is under investigation by the Delaware State Police.
