Happening Now: Route 9 Shutdown Near Smyrna Due To Motorcycle Crash

Just before 1:30 this afternoon rescue crews from the Citizens Hose Company of Smyrna, along with Kent County Medics and Trooper 4 were dispatched to the 4200 Block Hay Point Landing Road for reports of a motorcycle vehicle accident involving a motorcycle.

Early reports from the scene indicate that a motorcycle has struck a guardrail and two people are injured.

Trooper 4 is over the crash site and is preparing to land.

Update: One patient is en route to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital via Trooper 4.
Information about the second patients is not available at this time.
