Helicopter Hovering Over Edgemoor, Bear, Glasgow, And Delaware City, This Is Why.

At around 10:00 this morning several of our readers started contacting us trying to find out why a helicopter was flying over their homes, very low to the ground. Some of those readers sent us photos of what they were seeing.

Looking at the photos we thought the helicopter looked familiar so we contacted Delmarva Power to confirm that they were working in the area today. Turns out they are.

“We have a helicopter traveling through Edgemoor, Bear, Glasgow, and Delaware City completing visual inspections of power lines and associated infrastructure in the area”, said Delmarva PowerTimothy Stokes.

The inspections started today and we anticipate all work to be completed by Friday, June 7.

Stokes said this type of work is common practice and a great example of how Delmarva Power works to ensure reliability for our customers, who rely on us for their energy needs.

Inspections, such as this, along with continued investments into the energy grid have contributed greatly to our success, in relation to reliability, added Stokes.
