Troopers: Woman Charged With 5th DUI After Crash

Milton, Delaware – The Delaware State Police have arrested a Milton woman after she was found to be under the influence for the 5th time, according to Director of Public Information, Sergeant Richard Bratz.

Bratz said the preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred on Friday, November 15, 2019, at approximately 10:19 p.m. when troopers were dispatched to the area of Hudson Road and Cave Neck Road, Milton for a motor vehicle crash.

Upon arrival, troopers canvassed the area and observed two vehicles stopped on Hudson Road facing southbound. A blue Honda Civic and an SUV were located. Upon contact, Kimberly A. Kashner, the driver of the Honda Civic appeared to be intoxicated and showed multiple signs of impairment, according to Bratz. While speaking with the driver an odor of alcoholic beverage was immediately detected coming from her breath. A DUI investigation was initiated and a computer inquiry revealed four previous DUI convictions, added Bratz.

Kimberly A. Kashner, 53 of Milton, was taken into custody and transported to Troop 7 in Lewes. She was charged with his 5th Offense DUI (Felony) as well as Inattentive Driving. She was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on a $5,000.00 secured bond.
