Chesapeake Bay Cliff Collapse Prompts Search For Missing Man

Chesapeake Beach, Maryland – Just after 9:00 this morning Calvert County, Maryland rescue crews responded to the area of Brownie Beach near Chesapeake Beach for reports of cliff collapse.

The caller reportedly told 911 dispatchers that while searching for fossils, the cliffside collapsed and that two people were possibly missing.

Follow up reports from the scene indicated that people were in the water searching for at least one person.

Crews deployed manpower, boats, a drone and a helicopter from the Maryland State Police to search for an unaccounted for man.  Just before 10:30 crews reported that the man was located and no injuries were reported.
