Man Awaiting Trial, Woman Arrested On Gun And Drug Charges In Dover

The Dover Police Department and Delaware Probation and Parole arrested two people on drug and firearms charges on Tuesday afternoon, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said the Dover Police Department was assisting Probation and Parole on a home visit on Javon Pollard (23), who was a pre-trial service probationer on pending charges.

Pollard and Shyasia Hood (23) were contacted in front of their apartment building inside a vehicle. A strong odor of marijuana was coming from the vehicle when they were contacted, according to Hoffman.

Both subjects were taken into custody without incident and a search warrant was obtained for the apartment. Inside of the apartment, officers located 22.6 grams of crack cocaine, a .22 caliber handgun, .22 caliber ammunition, $2,500 in drug proceeds, and 17 grams of marijuana.

Javon Pollard was committed to SCI on a $67,000 cash bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (3x)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
-Violation of Probation

Shyasia Hood was committed to Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution on a $67,000 bond on the following offenses:
-Possession of Deadly Weapon During Commission of Felony
-Possession of Firearm/Ammo by Person Prohibited (3x)
-Possession with Intent to Deliver Crack Cocaine
-Possession of Crack Cocaine
-Conspiracy 2nd Degree
-Possession of Marijuana
-Drug Paraphernalia
