16-Year-Old Shot In Newark Monday Night

Last evening (Mar 30) at approximately 8:15 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of the parkland on Green Ridge Drive, in the community of Brookhaven, for the report of a shooting just occurred.

When the units arrived they found a 16-year-old male victim who was suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. He was transported to a local area hospital where was listed in stable condition.

Detectives from the New Castle Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

Newark – Rescue crews along with County Police are responding to Greenridge Road, in the area of Harmony Road and Route 2, Capitol Trail,  fort reports of a shooting.

It is unclear how if anyone was struck by the gunfire or how many victims there are.
