Firefighters from across New Castle County along with HAZMAT crews are investigating a reported explosion at a New Castle industrial park.
Crews have responded to 27 Mccullough Drive in the Southgate Industrial Park for reports of an explosion in a work area.
Initial radio reports indicate that the unknown chemical and the explosion have been contained in an area of the building.
DNREC crews and additional HAZMAT teams are also en route to the scene.
No word on injuries at this time.
Update: At around 11:45 am DNREC arrived on scene and placed the scene under control. All crews are clearing the scene.
