Secret Service Agent, Subject Wounded Near White House

Officials with the U.S. Secret Service have confirmed that a male subject and a Secret Service officer were both transported to a local hospital.

The officer-involved shooting occurred at the corner of 17th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. At no time during this incident was the White House complex breached or were any protectees in danger, according to the Secret Service.

President Trump was in the middle of a press conference when a member of his Secret Service detail escorted him from the press room. He would return a few minutes later to continue the press conference.
