Last night (Nov 29), at approximately 5:00 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Arbor Drive, in the community of Overview Gardens for the report of shots being fired.

Several patrol units arrived at the scene and located a man laying on the ground, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Lifesaving efforts were initiated; however, he was later pronounced deceased after being transported to an area hospital. Detectives identified the deceased man as 33-year-old Eddie Johnson.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.

The investigation revealed that prior to the patrol units arrival, a second victim, a 37-year-old female, had already been transported to a local area hospital for treatment of a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.
