Milton – Rescue crews have responded to Route 1 SB at Broadkill Road for a reported head-on collision with injuries.
Upon arrival, crews have closed the southbound lanes of Route 1 due to a large debris field and vehicles in the roadway.
Three people have been evaluated at the scene. Two patients will be transported to the hospital. The third has refused service.
Crews are currently working to remove the debris and fluids that have leaked onto the road.
The accident does not appear to be a head-on collision. The white vehicle at the bottom of the photo has heavy backend damage. It appears that the van rear-ended the white vehicle, the van also has heavy front-end damage.
Delaware State Police are on scene investigation. Trooper 2 was recalled.
Update: 11:03 am – Roadway has reopened.
