Officials: Two Injured In Route 40 Crash Tuesday

At approximately 11:27 a.m. New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Christiana Fire Company, and Wilmington Manor Fire Company were dispatched to Pulaski Highway and Buckley Boulevard for a motor vehicle collision, according to NCCEMS Assistant PIO MaryKate Selner.

Selner said upon arrival, units found two patients with an elderly female still trapped in a vehicle. A 65-year-old male was treated on scene and transported in critical condition by Christiana Fire Company accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics.

An 84-year-old female required rescue personnel to extricate her from the vehicle. After approximately 20 minutes, the patient was removed from her vehicle. She was treated and transported by
Wilmington Manor Fire Company accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics. The female suffered minor injuries and was in stable condition at the time of transport.

At the request of Christiana Fire Company, Belvedere Fire Company’s Hazardous Materials Unit was requested to assist with clean-up efforts.

Delaware State Police is investigating the incident.
