Two To Hospital After Middletown Crash, One By Air

At approximately 6:59 p.m. the New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Odessa Fire Company, Volunteer Hose Company of Middletown, Townsend Fire Company and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to the intersection of Middletown Odessa Road and State Route 1 in Middletown for a motor vehicle collision with multiple patients.

NCCEMS PIO S/Sergeant Abigail  Haas said New Castle County Paramedics arrived on scene to find a two-vehicle collision involving two sedans and three patients. The driver of one sedan, a 75-year-old male, was treated on scene for chest and abdominal injuries and was flown via helicopter by Delaware State Police Trooper Paramedics to Christiana Hospital in Stanton in serious condition.

The occupants of the second vehicle were transported by ground by basic life support ambulance to Christiana Hospital with minor injuries.

The Delaware State Police is investigating the crash.
