Seven Hospitalized In Route 1 Rollover Crash With Ejection Saturday

Officials investigating a Bear-Area crash that sent seven patients to the hospital Saturday.

At approximately 3:15 Saturday afternoon, New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Christiana Fire Company, Aetna Hose Hook & Ladder Company of Newark, Delaware City Fire Company, Port Penn Fire Company, Holloway Terrace Fire Company, Five Points Fire Company, Mill Creek Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to Route 1 southbound in the area of Pulaski Highway for a motor vehicle collision with reports of a patient ejected from the vehicle, according to Assistant PIO Emily Mallon .

Mallon said upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found a total of 7 patients.
• A 19-year-old male was treated on scene for possible head and chest injuries. He was transported to Christiana Hospital via basic life support ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, in stable condition.
• A 19-year-old male was treated on scene for possible head and chest injuries. He was transported to Christiana Hospital via basic life support ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, in stable condition.
• A 17-year-old male was treated on scene for possible head and internal injuries. He was transported to Christiana Hospital via basic life support ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, in serious condition.
• Four additional patients were treated on scene and transported to area hospitals via basic life support ambulance in stable condition.
