Two Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash In Prices Corner

Shortly after 9:00, Tuesday morning New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Cranston Heights, Belvedere, and Mill Creek Fire Companies along with Delaware State Police Aviaton’s Trooper 4, were dispatched to Centerville Road and Old Capitol Trail, for the report of a multi-vehicle collision with entrapment, according to NCCEMS S/Sergeant Abigail Haas.

Haas said the first arriving Paramedic Supervisor confirmed a 76-year-old female driver of a sedan to be trapped in her vehicle. Firefighters freed the woman with rescue tools in under 20 minutes. The woman was treated on scene by the New Castle County Paramedics for extremity and possible internal injuries, before she was flown to the Christiana Hospital in Stanton. She was listed in critical condition.

The driver of a second vehicle, a 54-year-old man, was treated on scene by emergency medical technicians from the Mill Creek Fire Company, before he was transported to the Christiana Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

The intersection is closed while Delaware State Police investigate.
