Body Found Inside Burning Trailer Home Friday

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating Friday morning’s fire in Delmar, Delaware where one person was found deceased inside the burning house trailer.

Assistant State Fire Marshal Michael Chionchio said the blaze, reported shortly before 6:00 am, occurred in the 9300 block of Carrolls Avenue near Saint George Road. The Delmar Volunteer Fire Company arrived on the scene with flames engulfing the home. Firefighters discovered one person inside the trailer.

State fire investigators are on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause. Heavy fire damage was estimated at $10,000. The Division of Forensic Science will conduct an autopsy said Chionchio.

No other injuries were reported.
