Officials Update Stanton-Area Crash That Closed Route 7

At approximately 3:43 p.m. the New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), the Millcreek Fire Company, and Belvedere Fire Company were dispatched to the area of Route 7 and Stanton Christiana Road, in Stanton, for the report of a motor vehicle collision with rollover, according to NCCEMS PIO S/Sergeant Abigail Haas.

Haas said emergency personnel arrived on scene to find a two-vehicle collision involving a compact car and a pickup truck that had rolled landing on its roof. Two total patients were located at the scene.  An approximately 50-year-old male operator of a compact car was treated on scene by the paramedics for a head injury and possible internal injuries. He was transported to the Christiana Hospital, in Stanton, in critical condition. A 32-year-old male operator of a pickup truck was transported to the Christiana Hospital by basic life support ambulance in stable condition.

Route 7 is closed in both directions while Delaware State Police investigate the crash.
