Just after 8:00 Wednesday evening rescue crews responded to Slaughter Beach Road in Milford for reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that a two-year-old child was seriously injured and that life-saving measures were being performed.
The child was transported to BayHealth Sussex by ground ambulance with all of the medic unit onboard.
Slaughter Beach Road was closed while the crash was investigated.
