Fire Investigators: Thursday House Fire In Marshallton Deliberately Started

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office has determined that last evening’s fire that heavily damaged a house trailer in Marshallton was intentionally started, according to Delaware State Fire Marshal Chief Deputy Robert Fox.

Fox said shortly before 9:30 pm, the Mill Creek Fire Company responded to the 200 block of Third Avenue, in the Murray Manor Trailer Park near Old Capitol Trail. Upon arrival, firefighters found smoke coming from a house trailer. Multiple area fire companies also responded to assist with the fire.

Deputy fire marshals were called to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire. The fire was deliberately started, and the criminal investigation is ongoing said Fox.

No injuries were reported. The fire caused approximately $20,000 in damage. This fire remains under investigation.
