Several Injured In Saturday House Fire, Including A Firefighter

At approximately 2:04 Saturday afternoon New Castle County Paramedics (NCCEMS), Talleyville Fire Company, Claymont Fire Company, Brandywine Hundred Fire Company, Five Points Fire Company, Bethel Township Hose Company of Garnet Valley, Elsmere Fire Company, and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to the unit block of Bradley Drive for reports of a residential structure fire with subjects trapped, according to NCCEMS Assistant PIO Emily Mallon.

Upon arrival, New Castle County Paramedics found three patients who had all self-extricated from the house prior to fire department arrival. A 65-year-old female was treated for minor burns and smoke inhalation. She was transported to Wilmington Hospital via Claymont Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, in serious condition.

A 66-year-old male was treated for smoke inhalation. He was transported to Wilmington Hospital via Claymont Fire Company ambulance, accompanied by New Castle County Paramedics, in stable condition. A third patient was evaluated at the scene and refused transport. A firefighter from one of the responding fire companies was also treated on scene said Mallon.

The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the scene.
