Just after 9:30, Tuesday evening police were alerted to a shooting in the area of 10th and Spruce Streets in Wilmington.
Initial reports indicate that a male was mortally wounded and later succumbed to his injuries. Sources tell FSU that shortly after the shooting a police officer observed a man running from the scene and gave chase.
The subject was reportedly taken into custody a short distance away.
