On March 20, 2022, Deputies with the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office responded to the unit block of Academy Drive in Elkton for reports that an individual was suffering from an apparent gunshot
wound.
Officials said first responders arrived at the location and pronounced the individual deceased at the scene.
An additional crime scene was located in the 2000 block of Singerly Road and processed by crime scene technicians with the Cecil County Sheriff’s Office. Police said no suspects have been apprehended but Sheriff’s Office investigators believe this to be an isolated incident with no additional threat to the general public.
The identification of the deceased is being withheld until the next of kin can properly be notified.
