Police: Foul Play Not Suspected In Death Of 82-Year-Old Newport Man

New Castle County Police are investigating what they are calling a suspicious death in Newport.

On Tuesday, August 30th, at approximately 6:26 P.M., New Castle County Police Officers responded to the unit block of Christian Street in the community of Lyndalia for a death investigation.

Upon arrival, the officers discovered an 82-year-old male deceased in the residence. On Wednesday an autopsy was conducted at the Delaware Division of Forensic Science. While foul play is not suspected, the cause of death is pending toxicology testing officials said Thursday. Given this fact, their name will not be released added police.

Police did not explain why they are investigating this incident as a suspicious death.
