Burn Patient Airlifted After At Least Two Homes Catch Fire In Sussex County

Just before 3:20, Monday morning firefighters with the Dagsboro Fire Department along with surrounding fire companies responded to the 32000 block of DuPont Blvd for reports of a residential structure fire.

First arriving advised that they were having a hard time locating a driveway to the home that is located in the woods. Shortly thereafter the driveway was located a limited number of apparatuses made access to the structure. Due to the limited access, the majority of the responding crews parked their equipment along DuPont Blvd.

Command advised that multiple trailer homes were on fire at the location.

Crews located one patient that was badly burned. That patient was airlifted by Delaware State Police Aviation to CER.

Crews closed all of the northbound lanes of DuPont Blvd. shortly after arrival. Crews remain on scene with the northbound lanes closed. Southbound motorists are getting by on the right shoulder.
