Police: Bear Man Linked To 10 Residental Burglaries In Newark

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police have arrested 39-year-old, Jeffrey Snavely of Bear in reference to multiple burglaries that occurred in Newark.

Officials said during August, October, and November of 2022, officers were dispatched to multiple burglaries in the Timberlane Trailer Park community in Newark. The investigations revealed that a suspect was entering trailers and sheds and removing miscellaneous property.

Through forensic evidence and investigative measures, detectives identified a suspect as Jeffrey Snavely. As the investigation progressed, detectives were able to link Snavely to ten separate cases. Snavely was charged with seven felony counts of burglary in the second degree, five felony counts of burglary in the third degree, four felony counts of theft greater than $1,500.00, seven misdemeanor counts of criminal mischief, and seven misdemeanor counts of theft under $1,500.00.

Snavely turned himself into police headquarters on January 10, 2023. He was arraigned by the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and held in lieu of $35,000.00 secured bail.
