Driver Hospitalized After Feiry Crash On Route 1

On Wednesday afternoon, an accident occurred on Route 1 in Magnolia.

Responding crews learned that a car crashed, overturned, and caught fire after striking a tree just after 4:45. According to reports from the scene bystanders worked quickly to pull the driver from the burning wreckage, risking their own safety to save the life of a stranger.

After being pulled from the vehicle, the driver was transported to Kent General Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries according to early reports. The actions of the bystanders undoubtedly saved the driver’s life and deserve recognition.

The cause of the accident is not yet known, but it serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of the road.
