Two Young People Shot In Dover, Police Have No Leads

The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a 20-year-old male and a 16-year-old male, both of Dover, injured early Wednesday afternoon.

Officials said the investigation began at 3:17 p.m., when Officers were called to the 100 block of Reese Street for the report of a shooting. The victim, a 20-year-old male, left the scene and went to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment of a gunshot wound to his lower body prior to Police arrival.

Officers responded and located shell casings in the 100 block of Reese Street and while on scene, were notified of a second victim, a 16-year-old male, who was now in the 700 block of Slaughter Street.

The 16-year-old had been shot in the lower body and was transported to Bayhealth Kent Campus for treatment.

Dover Police Department Public Information Officer Master Corporal Ryan Schmid said there are no leads at this time.
