State Fire Marshal Investigates Residential Fire in Seaford

Seaford, DE – The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is currently investigating a residential fire that occurred on Monday in Seaford. The fire, which caused significant damage to a dwelling in the 400 block of Highland Drive, was reported shortly after 1:00 P.M.

Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal John Galaska said Upon arrival, the Seaford Volunteer Fire Department, along with the Sussex County Paramedics, encountered heavy smoke and flames coming from the single-family residence. They were supported by mutual aid from neighboring fire companies.

Deputies from the State Fire Marshal’s office were summoned to the scene to conduct an investigation into the origin and cause of the blaze. As of now, the cause of the fire remains undetermined, and the investigation is ongoing.

Officials confirmed that the house was unoccupied at the time of the incident, and there were no reported injuries. The damage to the property is estimated to be around $300,000.
